A camera always takes me to a “new” place. It may be meeting someone new, finding a new object, or seeing a new landscape. The photograph is the description of what I see. Offering the viewer a sense of place, a feel for history, or a short visual narrative of a person’s life, I hope my photographs speak for themselves and I hope each viewer hears the words.
When you are lucky enough to have made a good photograph, the photograph needs no explanation. Just enjoy it . . . the texture . . . the space . . . the balance . . . the movement.
